The GDS Initiative

Apang Manav Mandal

I co-founded the GDS Initiative in April 2024 to work with disabled and underserved artisans. I helped with design, production, costing and quality checks, following the work from the first idea to the finished product.

Through the initiative, we produced more than 500 handcrafted products and generated Rs. 1.85 lakh in additional income for artisans. Proceeds went back into facility improvements and artisan welfare.

The Apang Manav Mandal products shown here include fabric pouches and cushion covers. They bring together different colours, patterns and ways of working with fabric.
